STRAWS at M4O Washington DC

 

STRAWS will screen Friday, June 8th at NW corner of the Washington Monument Grounds near 17th & Constitution. Starts at 8:30 pm (or dusk). Free to attend. Christine Figgener, Marine Biologist in the film who filmed viral straw in sea turtle's nose video in attendance. The International Ocean Film Festival is presenting other fun and inspiring ocean films with STRAWS.

Surfrider Foundation’s Eastern Long Island Chapter is launching Strawless Summer 2018 with the ultimate goal of reducing the number of plastic straws being used on the East End. Surfrider hopes to celebrate the restaurants who choose to join the worldwide movement to get rid of plastic straws.

This free public screening is hosted by the DENIN Ambassadors, a group of volunteer student leaders who work with the Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN) to promote and enhance the institute's mission on campus and in the community. The screening will serve as the launch for their campaign to reduce straw use in campus dining facilities and Main Street restaurants in Newark.
